Systems Technology is a course designed to introduce students to the many fields of engineering. All aspects of human advancement concerned with design, building, electronics, engines, transport robotics, automation and structures fall into the category of engineering. More recently sustainability has had a big impact on engineering as people seek to be more responsible in our environment with our human and physical resources. This course is intended to give the student experience in challenging activities that also exposure them to the many fields of engineering. Australia seems to always be in need of technically trained people and this course seeks to equip and introduce students to the engineering systems all around us.
Human achievement in all forms of life stems from people who are driven to find ways of improving what exists already. The students will be encouraged to get on board with this engineering, problem solving mindset.
This course is intended to provide a solid foundation for students wanting to progress through to the General Design, CAD course in Years 11 and 12.
