In Year 9, students in Health & Physical Education will develop their skills and knowledge in the following focus areas; the skills and strategies in a range of sports including badminton, hockey, AFL, ultimate frisbee, flag belt, fitness, football and athletics and the rules, tactics and strategies involved in games.
Within the Health Education Program we encourage students to take greater ownership of their own decision-making, directly leading into the critical mental health components of self-esteem, goal-setting and assertive communication skills. The impact of drugs and alcohol on health and the importance of good nutrition and fitness are other facets of an intensive year-long course.
Students may also select Sports Science as one of their elective choices in Year 9.
