This Year 7 & 8 Performance Arts course gives students the opportunity to try their hand at a range of Performing Arts subjects, and to look at the connections between them. Students will get to explore scenework and scripts in Drama, experiment with song rehearsal, rhythm and recording in Music and choreograph their own group pieces in Dance. They will develop their ability to understand and apply Performance Arts vocabulary through a range of theoretical and practical tasks. It’s a great opportunity to develop the group skills, confidence, problem solving, creativity and energy it takes to be a great Performing Artist.
Prerequisites
The Year 7 & 8 Performance Arts Course is mandatory for all Baldivis Secondary College Year 7 & 8 students, except those in the specialist Arts programs Baldivis Film Academy and IMSS Music.
Pathways:
Students undertaking the Year 7 & 8 Performance Arts course can enter a range of Arts subjects in Year , 9 and 10 including Drama, Dance, and Music. Each area has the possibility of a Senior School pathway.
